The FULMAR aircraft to patrol the southern coast of Spain in July 2011

The FULMAR aircraft has been used to patrol the coast of Huelva, located at the south of Spain, near the border with Portugal. The system of AEROVISION was working connected to the SIVE, the system that the Spanish authorities use to control the southern coast of Spain. The aircraft got pictures of some ships and small boats that were in the area to be sent at the SIVE control station on ground for identification. This is the first time that a UAV has been used to patrol the coast of Spain. The trials were made the first week of July 2011 within the WIMAAS project of the E.U.
